Switchboard Operator
Full time |$14-16/ hour |Lafayette, LA
We are seeking a professional and dependable Switchboard Operator to join a busy office in Lafayette. This position is responsible for managing a high-volume multi-line phone system, directing calls to the appropriate departments, and providing excellent customer service to callers. The ideal candidate will have strong communication skills, a professional phone presence, and the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
Duties:
- Answer and manage up to 8 busy phone lines
- Transfer calls to the appropriate extensions and departments
- Provide accurate information and assistance to callers
- Maintain professional telephone etiquette at all times
- Handle incoming calls efficiently and courteously
- Assist with general administrative duties as needed
- Ensure messages are relayed accurately and promptly
Requirements:
- Previous switchboard, receptionist, customer service, or administrative experience preferred
- Ability to manage multiple phone lines simultaneously
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Professional demeanor and phone etiquette
- Excellent multitasking and organizational abilities
Schedule:
- Monday & Wednesday: 7:30 AM – 4:30 PM
- Tuesday & Thursday: 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM
- Friday: Rotating Hours
