Our client is seeking a Custodian!
As a Janitor/Custodian, you will play a crucial role in maintaining cleanliness and organization throughout our manufacturing facility. Your primary responsibilities will include cleaning and sanitizing designated areas, ensuring proper disposal of waste materials, loading, and unloading trucks, and assisting with general maintenance tasks. Your efforts will directly contribute to the overall safety, productivity, and efficiency of our operations.
Responsibilities:
- Perform thorough cleaning and sanitization of bathrooms, including sinks, toilets, mirrors, and fixtures.
- Clean and disinfect conference rooms, offices, hallways, entryways, lunchrooms, and other common areas.
- Empty trash cans and replace liners as needed, ensuring proper disposal of waste materials.
- Sweep and mop floors to maintain cleanliness and prevent slip hazards.
- Dust surfaces, including desks, tables, shelves, and equipment.
- Clean and maintain glass surfaces, windows, and entryway doors.
- Vacuum carpets and rugs in offices and common areas.
- Refill soap dispensers, paper towel holders, and other restroom supplies.
- Maintain cleanliness in production waste areas.
- Empty production scrap hoppers.
- Maintain and organize cleaning supplies and equipment, ensuring they are used and stored safely.
- Follow established cleaning schedules and checklists to ensure all areas are covered.
- Adhere to safety regulations and guidelines while using cleaning chemicals and equipment.
- Report any maintenance or repair needs to the appropriate department for prompt resolution.
- Assist with setting up and arranging furniture for meetings, events, and office reconfigurations.
- Respond to special cleaning requests and emergencies as they arise.
- Collaborate with other staff members to maintain a cohesive and orderly work environment.
Qualifications and Education Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Previous janitorial or custodial experience in a commercial or manufacturing setting is advantageous.
- Previous forklift experience preferred.
- Familiarity with cleaning chemicals, equipment, and procedures.
- Strong attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining high cleanliness standards.
- Ability to work independently and manage time efficiently.
- Physical capability to perform repetitive tasks, lift and move heavy objects, and stand for extended periods.
- Good communication skills to interact with colleagues, supervisors, and visitors.
- Knowledge of basic safety protocols and the ability to follow instructions to ensure a safe work environment.
