Our client is seeking a Marine Construction Labor!
Position Summary
The Marine Construction Laborer supports marine construction projects by performing physically demanding tasks in waterfront environments, including demolition, installation, and general labor duties. This role requires working on barges, small vessels, and floating platforms while maintaining a strong commitment to safety and teamwork.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform demolition of existing pier structures, including removal of old decking materials.
- Assist in the installation of new pier decking and structural components.
- Complete full removal of deteriorated piers, including creosote-treated structures, in accordance with environmental and safety guidelines.
- Load, unload, and transport materials, tools, and equipment to and from job sites.
- Support pile driving, material placement, and general marine construction activities as directed.
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment on watercraft and job sites.
- Follow all safety protocols, including the use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
Project Assignments
- Job 1 & 2: Remove existing pier decking and install new decking materials.
- Job 3: Complete full removal of an existing creosote-treated pier.
Work Environment & Conditions
- Work is performed on barges, small boats, and floating work platforms.
- Must be comfortable working in and around deep water environments.
- Regular exposure to outdoor conditions, including direct sunlight, heat, humidity, wind, and inclement weather.
- Physically demanding role requiring lifting, carrying, bending, climbing, and prolonged standing.
Qualifications
- Previous construction or marine construction experience preferred, but not required.
- Ability to work safely in a marine environment and follow instructions.
- Strong physical stamina and the ability to perform manual labor tasks.
- Comfortable working at heights and over water.
- Reliable transportation to job sites.
Additional Requirements
- Must be able to lift and carry heavy materials (50+ lbs).
