Machine Operator/Woodworker Job Summary: A fast-paced, family-owned furniture manufacturer is seeking a 1st shift Machine Operator to join their growing team. Candidates must have experience operating various machinery and be familiar with wood, as the company produces high-end seating furniture. This position requires a keen eye for detail and excellent hand-eye coordination. Machine Operator/Woodworker Responsibilities:
- Operates any one of the machines used in wood working, such as routers, sanders, lathes, and table saws in order to manufacture various types wood table tops
- Completes each order accurately and on time
- Maintains performs basic preventative maintenance on wood working equipment
- Keeps work area neat and clean according to company standards
- Works safely and follows all company rules and procedures
- Flexibility to provide back up to other positions during peak production times required
Schedule & Pay:
- 1st shift, hours vary each week but typically are Monday-Friday, 5AM-3:30PM or 6AM-2:30PM. Must be willing to work occasional mandatory OVERTIME on Saturdays (4am-noon) as needed.
- Paid Weekly - starting pay is $18.50/HR + a pay increase after 90 days!
Machine Operator/Woodworker Qualifications:
- High School Diploma/GED or equivalent preferred
- Minimum 6 months experience working in a manufacturing environment; or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Functional working knowledge of general hand tools such as D8 sanders, routers, belt sanders, drills, staple guns, glue guns and others
- Frequent lifting up to 50 pounds, occasional lifting up to 75 pounds — proper lifting techniques required
- Must be 18 years old or older to work
