Practical, People-First Strategies to Proactively Reduce Workplace Risks

Organizations lose an estimated $330 billion annually to workplace violence through lost workdays, turnover, property damage, legal fees, and decreased engagement. On the other hand, workplaces thrive when employees feel safe, supported, and confident that their wellbeing is prioritized.

As risks and stressors in today’s environment continue to evolve, HR departments, business leaders, and frontline management play a vital role in building awareness, strengthening readiness, and creating pathways to help employees before concerns grow. Join us for our next Breakfast with Purpose designed to deepen your understanding of the human side of insider threats and workplace violence.

This session features expert insights from Jason Russell, Founder and President of Secure Environment Consultants (SEC), who will offer a realistic approach to safety planning and Behavioral Threat Assessment (BTA) that includes a practical understanding of insider threat risk prevention, emphasizing human behaviors and organizational pressure points that often precede an incident. Jason brings decades of experience in behavior analysis, investigation, and law enforcement, ensuring the session is informed by real-world scenarios and practical applications relevant to your workplace.

What You’ll Learn
Participants will walk away with:

  • A clear understanding of the role BTA plays in creating safer, more supportive work environments and a healthier workplace culture.
  • Early behavioral indicators that may signal an employee is struggling and structured responses to concerning behaviors.
  • How a consistent, documented process strengthens communication across departments and reduces liability.
  • Practical tools and resources you can use right away, including a high-risk termination checklist and foundational BTA materials.
