Production Supervisor Job Summary
A foam manufacturer in the Grand Rapids, MI area is seeking a Temporary Production Supervisor to oversee team members in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. The supervisor will manage work assignments, ensure safety and quality, foster employee development, and drive continuous improvement in production processes. This position could turn into a long-term role for the right candidate.
Production Supervisor Responsibilities:
- Supervise and manage team members in a manufacturing and assembly environment, ensuring smooth operations.
- Plan, assign, and prioritize work while implementing policies and procedures.
- Recommend improvements to production methods, equipment, and working conditions.
- Coach, develop, and resolve employee issues, making employment decisions as needed.
- Balance quality, productivity, cost, safety, and morale to achieve optimal results.
- Manage departmental performance, track absenteeism, and provide regular progress reports to management.
- Lead the team through a 30-day planning cycle and ensure effective communication.
- Investigate accidents and maintain proper inventory levels.
- Perform other duties as assigned to support operational needs.
Production Supervisor Qualifications:
- Associate’s degree required.
- 3-5 years of experience in a production or manufacturing environment.
- Strong leadership, communication, and performance management skills.
- Ability to manage time effectively and resolve problems with technical expertise.
- Results-driven, with a focus on continuous improvement and employee development.
- Must be able to lift up to 50lbs repeatedly
- Physical ability to lift up to 50 pounds and perform tasks in both production and office settings.
- Proficient in maintaining safety and productivity standards while ensuring employee well-being.
Pay and Schedule
- $55,000-$65,000/year
- Monday – Friday, 6am-2pm
