Job Full Description
Upholsterer Job Summary: A fast-paced manufacturing company is seeking a person to support the Upholstery department. This position will require making, repairing, replacing and securing materials on frames for transportation seating. Candidates need to be very self-directed and pay high attention to detail and quality. A priority to ensure all parts fit correctly and are suitable for the final product is needed with the goal of producing a quality product. High attention to detail is required to be successful in this position.
Upholsterer Responsibilities:
- Reads and comprehends instructions and follows established procedures.
- Verifies there is all the material and equipment needed to begin the process.
- Take measures to ensure the perfect fit of components.
- Select or modifies components according to measurements and specifications.
- Aligns material and puts together parts to build more complex units
- Using glue spray guns, air tools, clamps and other machinery or methods as required.
- Perform all necessary system transactions.
- Ensure all products meet quality standards.
- Maintains equipment and workspace in good condition.
- Inputs production quantities and time data into ERP.
- Reports on issues, malfunction, or defective parts.
- Adheres to all safety guidelines and procedures.
- Create products and box labels.
- Tears down and remakes boxes.
- Other duties as assigned.

Schedule & Pay:
- 1st shift, Monday - Friday 6am-3:20pm with OT is at the start of the shift at 5am and on the weekends as needed
- $20.86/hr
Upholsterer Qualifications:
- Must possess great manual dexterity and have good hand strength.
- Technical knowledge and ability to read blueprints, drawings, tape measure (including decimals)
- Ability to use simple machinery such as power air tools, spray guns, clamps, bladder machine, stuffing machine, etc.
- Good understanding of quality control principles.
- Good communication skills (verbal and written).
- Ability to work on regular schedules set forth by the Management team.
- Standing for entire shift.
- Able to lift to 40 pounds.
- Able to twist, bend, stoop as needed.
- Ability to frequently use your hands to grasp and/or squeeze.
- Exposure to glue fumes and fiberglass.
