Job Title: Mechanical Assembler (Temporary - 6 months)
Schedule: Full-Time | 1st Shift (6:00 AM – 2:30 PM)
Pay: $17–$20/hour (Based on Experience)
Overview
Express Employment Professionals is seeking a skilled Mechanical Assembler for a temporary assignment at a local company in Winona, MN. This role involves assembling, testing, and inspecting mechanical components such as power winches, reducers, and rigging equipment using blueprints and work instructions.
The ideal candidate will have a strong mechanical aptitude, attention to detail, and the ability to read blueprints and follow detailed work instructions.
Responsibilities
- Assemble components, gears, brakes, seals, and bearings
- Read and interpret blueprints
- Use hand tools, air tools, drill press, and manual lathe
- Measure with calipers and micrometers
- Oil, grease, and torque bolts to spec
- Inspect for quality, leaks, and proper fit
- Perform basic wiring (pneumatics a plus)
- Troubleshoot issues independently or with a team
- Manage and track parts, inventory, and kits
Qualifications
- Must have knowledge & ability to use a variety of hand & power tools; calipers & micrometers
- HS Diploma or GED
- Mechanical aptitude and assembly experience preferred
- Ability to follow instructions and work independently
- Basic math and measurement skills
- Experience with shop tools and equipment
- Welding a plus
- Lift up to 50 lbs
