Job Title: Temporary Accounting Manager - Special Project
Job Type: Temporary (Approx. 6 Months, Potential for Extension)
Schedule: Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM
Pay: $42.00 – $47.00 per hour (based on experience)
Position Overview
Express Employment Professionals is seeking an experienced Accounting Manager to assist a local company in Winona, MN for a temporary special project. This role is expected to last approximately six months, with potential for long-term placement. The ideal candidate will bring strong cost accounting experience, particularly within manufacturing or distribution environments, and thrive in a fast-paced, high-volume setting.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage month-end close processes
- Perform and oversee cost accounting functions
- Evaluate, review, and approve all invoices
- Maintain and update systems related to month-end reporting and corrections
- Document accounting processes and support transition readiness
- Analyze workflows and recommend process improvements and automation opportunities
- Support administrative and communication needs during critical accounting periods
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field
- Minimum 6 years of accounting experience
- At least 3 years of accounting management experience
- Strong background in cost accounting (manufacturing or distribution preferred)
- Experience with ERP systems, specifically Microsoft Navision and AS400
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills
- Proven ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
Additional Requirements
- Proficiency with standard office equipment (computer, calculator, copier, fax machine, printers, etc.)
- Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills
