Position Overview

We are seeking a detail-oriented Buyer to provide short-term, part-time support for purchasing and inventory management functions. This role is responsible for sourcing products, monitoring inventory levels, processing purchase orders, evaluating suppliers, and helping maintain efficient inventory control processes.

The ideal candidate will have previous purchasing, inventory, procurement, or supply chain experience and be comfortable working independently in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Process purchase orders and maintain purchasing records.
• Evaluate suppliers based on pricing, quality, availability, and delivery performance.
• Monitor inventory levels and determine purchasing needs.
• Manage inventory control processes and identify opportunities for improvement.
• Coordinate and oversee cycle counts and inventory audits.
• Analyze inventory movement and work to reduce excess or obsolete stock.
• Follow up on shipping, transportation, and supplier-related issues.
• Develop and maintain strong vendor relationships.
• Collaborate with warehouse, sales, and operations teams to support business needs.
• Track market trends and product availability to support strategic purchasing decisions. 

Qualifications

Required:

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
• Strong organizational and analytical skills.
• Intermediate proficiency with Microsoft Office, especially Excel.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong communication and problem-solving abilities.

Preferred:

• 2+ years of inventory, purchasing, or procurement experience.
• Experience in industrial distribution, manufacturing, welding supply, or related industries.
• Knowledge of inventory management and warehouse operations.
• Understanding of shipping and transportation processes.
