Job Full Description
Medical Company is seeking a dedicated Payment Posting and Collections Specialist to be responsible for the following:
- Provide prompt, accurate, and professional resolution to patients, payer, and internal inquiries.
- Reconcile cash deposits to posted account transactions to ensure accuracy and balance.
- Perform daily cash drawer reconciliation and resolve discrepancies as needed.
- Interpret Insurance Explanation of Benefits (EOBs) and effectively explain coverage, payments, and patient responsibility to patients.
- Post patient and insurance payments for assigned payers.
- Contact patients regarding outstanding account balances, process payments, and establish payment arrangements in accordance with company policies.
- Reconcile Electronic Funds Transfer (EFT) deposits, verify payment accuracy, and forward documentation for processing.
- Manage and maintain the Financial Hardship Renewal Program, including required documentation and follow-up.
- Monitor and maintain payment status for cash rental accounts.
- Calculate, process, and document patient and payer refunds in accordance with company policies and procedures.
- Analyze reimbursement and payment data, identify discrepancies, and recommend resolutions for complex billing and reimbursement issues.
- Maintain and update the Brightree Patient Collections Dashboard on a daily, weekly, and monthly basis.
- Utilize electronic medical records (EMR), healthcare information systems, and other healthcare applications with proficiency and accuracy.
- Assist leadership in the development, implementation, monitoring, and maintenance of policies and procedures related to compliant documentation and billing practices.
- Maintain strict confidentiality regarding patient account information and the financial affairs of the organization.
- Utilize insurance web portals to research, locate, retrieve, and download eligibility, claim, and payment information.
- Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned by management.
Job Requirements
- Knowledge of medical terminology, insurance coverage guidelines, and payer documentation requirements.
- Strong computer proficiency with the ability to navigate multiple systems, applications, and web-based portals simultaneously.
- Excellent verbal, written, customer service, and phone communication skills.
- Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities, meet deadlines, and adapt to changing business needs.
- Detail-oriented, self-motivated, and able to work independently with minimal supervision.

Work Hours
- Monday through Friday 8:30-5:00 pm
- One Saturday per month, 9:00-1:00 pm
