Shipping & Receiving Clerk – Position Summary
The Shipping & Receiving Clerk is responsible for accurately tracking all incoming and outgoing deliveries to ensure efficient and organized shipping, receiving, and inventory operations. This role supports multiple departments and maintains accurate documentation and inventory records.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Perform incoming inspections, testing, and verification of certificates of conformance.
- Reconcile receiving documentation with purchase orders.
- Document each delivery to support accurate data entry.
- Complete daily receiving entries in the computer system.
- Maintain raw material and critical supply inventories.
- Verify goods received against purchase orders or invoices in SAP.
- Prepare shipping documents and support all shipping and receiving functions.
- Manage packaging materials and associated inventories.
- Pack products for shipment and arrange transportation services.
- Create sequentially numbered paperwork within SAP.
- Maintain current customer and vendor records in SAP.
- Generate customer-specific reports such as inventory or finished goods reports.
- Coordinate with multiple departments regarding package receipt and distribution.
- Maintain confidential company files and documents in both electronic and physical formats.
- Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly statements and reports for managers.
- Maintain orderly company documentation following established filing systems.
- Ensure compliance with company policies including GMP, PPE, Food Safety, Safety, Gluten Free protocols, and Sanitation standards.
- Provide backup support for other Shipping & Receiving Clerks and the Warehouse Supervisor.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities)
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Access).
- Ability to learn SAP Inventory Management Software; SAP Business One experience preferred.
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Ability to pass a pre-employment drug screening and background check.
- Ability to read, write, and speak English fluently.
- Strong math skills, attention to detail, and organizational abilities.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills; multilingual ability is a plus.
- Ability to handle confidential information with discretion.
- High accuracy in data entry and document preparation.
- Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills.
- Excellent time‑management skills with the ability to multitask, prioritize, and meet deadlines.
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
