Job Full Description
The ACH Analyst is responsible for ACH processing duties, including processing share drafts, direct deposit, electronic funds transfers (EFTs) and other ACH functions. The principal challenge is to process the daily files in an efficient, timely and accurate manner to minimize the credit union’s exposure to loss. This position must ensure the integrity of member accounts by carefully processing all transactions in accordance with the credit union’s policies and procedures as well as all applicable state and federal regulations.
ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES
1) Process transaction files from the Automated Clearing House (ACH) daily. This process includes verifying and correcting data, posting transactions, researching rejected/non-posted items to determine the appropriate action required, handle returns, charge related fees, initiate overdraft notices and balance inventory for future dated transactions.
2) Process draft files from Federal Reserve Bank to include posting transactions, handling rejected items, handling return items, fees, overdraft notices and ordering draft copies.
3) Monitor ACH payroll processing by verifying originating financial institution (OFI) numbers on ACH files, updating individual distributions and verifying/updating pre-note information.
4) Audit and balance system processes, including but not limited to, balancing debits and credits from the Federal Reserve for ACH and draft processing, auditing negative accounts and assisting in closing negative accounts.
