Position Summary
The Senior Systems Administrator will lead the design, implementation, and maintenance of on- premises
and cloud-based systems. You will be responsible for managing core infrastructure, ensuring cybersecurity
best practices, and supporting a hybrid work environment that enables productivity and innovation across
the company. You will collaborate closely with IT leadership, DevOps, Security, R&D, and business teams
to provide high availability, scalability, and operational excellence.


Key Responsibilities
• Administer, monitor, and maintain servers, networks, and enterprise applications (Windows,
Active Directory, O365, Azure, etc.)
• Design and manage secure hybrid infrastructure across on-premises and cloud environments
(Azure/AWS)
• Oversee backup and disaster recovery strategies; ensure regular testing and compliance
• Implement and enforce IT security policies, including patch management and endpoint protection
• Lead troubleshooting and root cause analysis for complex infrastructure and system issues
• Automate routine processes and improve system efficiency using scripting and orchestration tools
(e.g., PowerShell, Python, Ansible)
• Collaborate with scientific and business stakeholders to support specialized applications and lab
systems
• Serve as a mentor to junior system administrators and assist in training/support documentation
• Participate in audits and ensure compliance with regulatory frameworks (e.g., GxP, ISO, NIST,
SOC 2)


Qualifications
Required:
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field (or equivalent
experience)
• 7+ years of experience in systems/network administration, with at least 3 years in a senior or lead
role
• Strong experience with:
o Windows Server
o Active Directory, Group Policy, DNS/DHCP
o Microsoft 365, Azure AD, and cloud infrastructure management
o Virtualization (VMware, Hyper-V)
o Network management (firewalls, switches, VPNs)
• Proven ability to manage projects independently and drive infrastructure improvements
• Excellent problem-solving and communication skills
Preferred:
• Experience in biotech, pharma, or regulated environments (GxP, HIPAA, etc.)
• Certifications such as Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator, RHCSA/RHCE, CompTIA
Security+, or similar
• Experience with DevOps tools and CI/CD pipelines
