Job Full Description
Pay: $19.50/hr.
Schedule: Monday – Thursday 5:00pm-3:30am
Position Overview: An Extrusion Operator is responsible for operating and maintaining extrusion machinery in a manufacturing environment. The operator ensures the efficient and accurate production of plastic or metal products through the extrusion process, while adhering to safety, quality, and operational guidelines.

Machine Setup and Preparation: Prepare extrusion equipment for production runs, including installing dies, calibrating machine settings, and configuring process parameters such as temperature, speed, and pressure.

Material Handling: Load raw materials (plastic pellets, metal billets, etc.) into feed systems or hoppers, ensuring proper material selection and accurate quantities. Monitor material levels and replenish as needed during production.

Extrusion Operation: Start and monitor extrusion machines to produce consistent and high-quality products. Monitor machine displays, controls, and indicators to ensure proper operation and troubleshoot any issues that may arise.

Quality Control: Conduct frequent visual inspections of extruded products for defects, dimensions, and adherence to quality standards. Make necessary adjustments to process settings to maintain product quality.

Process Optimization: Continuously monitor and adjust process parameters to optimize extrusion conditions, minimize waste, and maximize production efficiency.

Maintenance and Cleaning: Perform routine maintenance tasks, including cleaning, lubrication, and minor repairs on extrusion equipment. Report and address any mechanical or technical issues to maintenance personnel.

Safety Compliance: Adhere to all safety protocols and guidelines, including wearing required personal protective equipment (PPE) and participating in safety training.

Team Collaboration: Work closely with supervisors, quality control inspectors, and other team members to achieve production targets and address any operational challenges.
Qualifications and Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Previous experience as an extrusion operator or similar role.
- Familiarity with extrusion machine operation, process parameters, and troubleshooting techniques.
- Attention to detail and ability to follow precise instructions and procedures.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to make real-time adjustments to optimize production.
- Flexibility to work in shifts and overtime as needed.
- Commitment to safety protocols and guidelines.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to stand for extended periods and perform repetitive tasks.
- Lift and carry moderate to heavy loads (up to 50lbs).
- Manual dexterity for handling small parts and operating machine controls.
Duties include but are not limited to:
- Test the temperature gauge to ensure that the heat level is at an optimal level
- Set the Valve, adjust the Mills
- The operator needs to control the speed
- Ensure that the material is fed through the flat sheet dye extension
- Manage the different take up points
