Assembly Technician –Must be able to read blueprints, calipers and micrometers

Location: Monroe
Pay: $21.00/hour
Schedule: 1st Shift

We are seeking a dependable and mechanically inclined Assembly Technician to join our production team on 1st shift. This position involves assembling large industrial components, operating forklifts to move heavy materials, reading blueprints, and using precision measuring tools to ensure quality and accuracy throughout the assembly process.

Candidates should be comfortable working in a fast-paced manufacturing environment and handling large parts safely and efficiently.

Responsibilities

• Assemble large mechanical components and parts according to specifications and blueprints
• Safely secure, transport, and position materials weighing up to 4,500 lbs using a forklift and other lifting equipment
• Read and interpret blueprints, work orders, and assembly instructions
• Utilize calipers, micrometers, and other precision measuring tools to verify dimensions and tolerances
• Navigate computer systems and file servers to access production documents and work instructions
• Operate hand tools, torch wrenches, and additional assembly equipment safely and effectively
• Inspect completed assemblies to ensure quality standards are met
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment
• Follow all company safety procedures and production guidelines

Qualifications

• Previous mechanical assembly experience required
• Prior experience assembling industrial components preferred
• Forklift experience required
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings
• Experience using calipers, micrometers, and precision measuring equipment
• Basic computer skills and ability to navigate digital files and production systems
• Comfortable working with large and heavy materials in a manufacturing environment
• Strong mechanical aptitude and attention to detail
• Ability to lift, move, and work with heavy parts safely

Preferred Experience

• Previous experience with industrial equipment or heavy component assembly
• Experience using torch wrenches and other fabrication tools
• Familiarity with production and quality control processes
