Job Full Description
Are you a night owl? Do you take pride in keeping everything safe and sound?..... Express is currently seeking a Fire Night Watch for a Vance County company. The Fire Night Watch is responsible for maintaining a safe and fire-free environment at a processing facility during night hours. This role is essential in ensuring early detection of potential fire hazards and preventing equipment-related fires by regularly monitoring operations and performing preventive checks.
Pay: $12 - $15/hour Depending on Experience level
Overnight shifts Ending at 8AM
Key Responsibilities:
- Patrol Grounds: Conduct routine walks around the mulch yard, equipment areas, and buildings to identify potential fire risks or unsafe conditions.
- Inspect Equipment: Ensure all motors, blowers, grinders, and other heavy machinery are turned off, properly maintained, and free from combustible buildup.
- Clean Motors: Blow off debris and dust from equipment using compressed air or blower systems to prevent overheating and fire risk.
- Monitor Hot Spots: Use thermal or visual checks to watch for smoking or smoldering mulch piles.
- Record Keeping: Maintain a night log of inspections, cleaning activities, and any issues encountered.
- Emergency Response: Act quickly in the event of a fire by following company emergency protocols, including alerting fire services and management.
Qualifications:
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
- Must be able to walk and work outdoors in various weather conditions
- Familiarity with fire safety equipment and basic emergency procedures
- Strong attention to detail and reliability
Working Conditions:
- Outdoor, physical work in all weather conditions
- Exposure to dust, mulch, and equipment noise
- Night shift, including weekends or holidays as required
