Job Full Description
JOB SUMMARY: Understand the processes required to support molding production through the troubleshooting and maintenance of production tooling.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTION:
• On-site regular, reliable attendance is required.
• Perform cleaning and changeover of production molds to insure production readiness.
• Diagnose quality issues (root cause) and take corrective action to return the mold to production.
• Make recommendations for needed repairs or improvements.
• Perform visual checks of production of initial sampling to insure repairs or changeover are correct.
• Keep documentation of mold repairs/modifications current.
• Takes direction from Mold Maintenance Lead Person
• Keeps updated log of all spare tooling and reports the status to the Mold Maintenance Lead on a weekly basis.
• Consults with the Mold Maintenance Lead, Molding Manager and Operations Manager on production requirements for timing of repairs.
ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
• May be asked to manufacture or modify various automation machine parts or fixtures to support production.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:
• Capable of interpreting blueprints, CAD and Solidworks
• Possess a thorough understanding of mold manufacturing concepts (i.e. fitting tooling, venting, frame interlocking techniques, etc.)
• Capable of utilizing a milling machine, surface grinder, and EDM to (tolerances of + .0002) • Capable of working with a process technician to troubleshoot and determine necessary repairs to existing molds.
• Thorough attention to detail
• Capable of Micro welding and machining to repair damaged steel preferred
TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE:
• 5 years hands-on experience in the maintenance of multi-cavity close tolerance molds.
• Minimum two-year technical school degree necessary with a four-year state certified apprenticeship in mold making preferred.

Hours are 6a-6p Fri, Sat & Sun. Pay is $17/hr. Evaluation to hire with company benefits upon hire.
