Contract Length: 6-month assignment
Work Hours: Part-Time (approximately 24 hours per week)
Job Description
This part-time contract role will provide key financial support to our clients Industrial Profile Systems, by analyzing and manipulating financial data to generate actionable reports that assist in decision-making, particularly in the area of sales tax compliance. This role will need to determine the best course of action for state sales tax regulation. The Financial Analyst will work closely with our Group Controller, internal accounting team, and external CPA firm.
This role will train on-site in Willoughby but will have the potential for hybrid set-up upon completion of training.
Job Responsibilities
- Analyze financial data to support accurate and timely sales and local tax reporting
- Prepare and present decision-making reports based on data analysis for sales tax
- Collaborate with the Group Controller and accounting team to streamline and improve tax reporting processes
- Work with the CPA firm to ensure tax compliance and assist in audit preparation if needed
- Utilize Excel and ERP systems to extract, clean, and interpret financial data
- Identify trends, discrepancies, or areas of risk related to tax obligations
- Other financial projects may be assigned throughout the contract term
- Perform other miscellaneous job duties and related functions as directed
Desired Skills & Experience
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Financial or other related field required
- 5–7 years of professional experience in sales and local tax analysis required
- Strong understanding of multi-jurisdictional sales tax regulations and reporting requirements
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, etc.)
- Knowledge and experience in Microsoft NAV and/or Microsoft Business Central preferred
- Experience working in manufacturing environments a plus
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and tasks with a sense of urgency
- Well organized with an aptitude for details
- Effective verbal and written communication skills
- Comfortable working independently and in collaboration with cross-functional teams
- Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving skills
