Quality Engineer (Contract) – Painesville, OH #COH

Schedule: Monday – Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM (on-site)
Location: Painesville, OH

Salary: $75k-$90K (Or more Based on Experience)
Type: Contract (1099 or W-2, depending on arrangement)

 

Overview:
We are seeking a skilled Quality Engineer for a contract opportunity in Painesville, OH. This role is ideal for candidates with experience in quality engineering and manufacturing, who are motivated to ensure products and processes meet high standards of quality, reliability, and compliance. The Quality Engineer will collaborate with cross-functional teams to resolve quality issues, drive continuous improvement, and support audits and inspections.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement product and process quality control plans.

  • Investigate customer complaints, returns, and nonconformances.

  • Conduct inspections, First Article and PPAP submissions, and support audits.

  • Administer and verify corrective and preventive actions (CAPA).

  • Utilize data-driven tools (SPC, Six Sigma) to identify improvements.

  • Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to meet quality objectives.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering required.

  • 3–5 years of experience in quality engineering or manufacturing.

  • Knowledge of ISO 9001:2015; auditing experience preferred.

  • Familiarity with IPC 620, AS9100, or ISO 13485 a plus.

  • Strong skills in root cause analysis, CAPA, and statistical tools.

  • Proficiency with ERP/MRP systems and Microsoft Office.

  • Preferred: ASQ CQE, Internal Auditor certification, or experience in aerospace, military, or medical devices.

Required Skills:

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities with attention to detail.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication, including technical reporting.

  • Ability to interpret engineering drawings and technical documentation.

  • Effective project and time management skills with the ability to handle multiple priorities.

  • Skilled at cross-functional collaboration and influencing teams toward quality objectives.

  • Ability to work independently and lead investigations with minimal oversight.

  • Comfortable supporting audits, inspections, and customer interactions professionally.

  • Flexible and adaptable to a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Contract Details:

  • Duration: Based on project needs. Possibility to go PT or FT after Contract Ends.

  • Schedule: Monday – Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM (overtime as needed).

  • On-site in Painesville, OH.
