Quality Engineer (Direct Hire)– Painesville, OH #COH
Schedule: Monday – Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM (on-site)

Overview:
We are seeking a skilled Quality Engineer for a contract opportunity in Painesville, OH. This role is ideal for candidates with experience in quality engineering and manufacturing, who are motivated to ensure products and processes meet high standards of quality, reliability, and compliance. The Quality Engineer will collaborate with cross-functional teams to resolve quality issues, drive continuous improvement, and support audits and inspections.
Key Responsibilities

Develop and implement product quality plans, manufacturing process flows, and control plans.

Lead root cause analysis and corrective action for customer complaints, RMAs, and product returns.

Conduct First Article Inspections, PPAP submissions, and internal quality audits.

Verify materials, tooling, and inspection processes to ensure compliance with specifications.

Administer and track corrective and preventive actions (CAPA) to eliminate recurring nonconformances.

Manage nonconforming materials and develop rework instructions to reduce scrap and rework.

Support internal and external audits (ISO, customer, and third-party).

Partner with cross-functional teams (Engineering, Operations, Supply Chain, Customer Service) to meet quality goals.

Utilize data analysis and Six Sigma methodologies to drive continuous improvement initiatives.

Train and support employees on quality standards, inspection practices, and compliance expectations.
Qualifications

Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or related technical field (required).

3–5 years of experience in Quality or Manufacturing Engineering within a production environment.

IPC 620 and ISO 9001:2015 knowledge and hands-on auditing experience required.

Experience with ISO 13485 or AS9100 is a plus.

Strong background in root cause analysis (5 Whys, Fishbone, FMEA) and CAPA.

Skilled in reading blueprints, interpreting technical drawings, and using measurement tools.

Familiarity with SPC, statistical analysis, and quality metrics.

Experience using ERP/MRP systems and Microsoft Office Suite.

Lean Six Sigma certification, ASQ CQE, or Internal Auditor certification preferred.

Prior experience in the Cable and Connector, Aerospace, Military, or Medical Device industries is a plus.
