Level 3 Quality Inspector – Willoughby, OH #2931ST
Our client is looking for a Level 3 Quality Inspector to make sure all machined parts meet customer, drawing, and regulatory requirements. This role is important for inspection, process checks, and measurement work, using equipment like CMMs and Keyence Vision Systems. You’ll handle setup checks, in-process audits, final inspections, training, documentation, and continuous improvement. Training is provided to develop Keyence programming skills.
Key Responsibilities

Perform first piece inspections for each production run.

Conduct in-process inspections and audits to check part quality and process consistency.

Perform final inspections and validate lots according to sampling plans.

Operate Hexagon CMMs (PC-DMIS): load programs, set up parts, check calibration, and interpret results.

Make minor edits to CMM programs and escalate more complex issues.

Create and edit Keyence inspection programs (training provided).
-
Train operators on Keyence and other inspection tools (~5% of the time).

Complete first article inspection reports (FAIRs) for new parts.

Follow and use process flow maps, control plans, PFMEAs, and inspection plans.

Apply GD&T knowledge to read datums, feature relationships, and tolerances.

Perform internal audits and support corrective actions.

Maintain gage calibration and measurement traceability.

Draft and submit FAIRs, NCRs, and corrective action reports.

Participate in improvement projects to strengthen inspection reliability.
Qualifications
Required:
-
At least 5 years of experience in dimensional inspection or quality control in machining or aerospace.

Knowledge of AS9100/ISO 9001 standards.

Skilled with GD&T and precision measuring instruments.

Hands-on experience with CMMs (PC-DMIS) and minor program edits.

Able to read engineering drawings, control plans, and inspection documents.

Experience completing FAIRs, NCRs, and related reports accurately.

Detail-oriented and able to work independently.
Preferred:
-
7–10 years of experience in inspection or quality control.

Keyence programming experience or willingness to train.

Experience with PPAP or APQP documentation.

Experience in internal audits under AS9100.

Knowledge of gage calibration and traceability.

Customer-specific quality certifications.
Work Environment

Full-time, 1st shift (Monday–Friday).

Climate-controlled lab and shop floor.
-
Occasional overtime; work with Production, Engineering, and Quality teams.
