Job Details

The Quality Control Inspector is responsible for inspecting machined copper and aluminum electrical connectors manufactured on-site, as well as components and raw materials received from external suppliers.

Key Responsibilities

• Inspect parts for quality defects by referencing blueprints, specifications, and quality documentation.
• Use hand-held gaging equipment such as calipers, thread plugs, and gage pins to verify product compliance.
• Sort parts for known quality defects and perform basic rework operations, including deburring, remarking, and re-tapping.
• Conduct periodic gage calibrations as required.
• Perform routine warehouse walk-throughs to identify unlabeled or missing product.
• Complete additional tasks as assigned, provided they fall within the inspector’s training level and physical capabilities.

Most work is performed in a seated position at a workbench in a quiet, climate-controlled environment (heated and air-conditioned).

Requirements

• Strong observational skills and exceptional attention to detail (critical skills for this role).
• Problem-solving ability.
• Experience using quality gaging equipment such as calipers, thread gages, and gage pins, or the willingness and ability to learn under Quality Leadership guidance.
• Ability to read and interpret manufacturing blueprints.
• Basic computer proficiency, including navigating file systems and using email, Microsoft Word, and Excel.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills; must work well with other QC inspectors.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Ability to read and understand written instructions at a sixth-grade English reading level.
• Ability to speak and understand verbal instructions in English.
• Maintain a clean and organized workstation.
• Ability to lift and handle containers weighing up to 35 lbs.
• Ability to walk up to one mile per day to move parts, gather gaging equipment, and perform related tasks.
• Familiarity with ISO 9001 standards is preferred but not required.
