Fringe Pay (Prevailing Wage Requirement)
This position is subject to prevailing wage requirements, which include both a base hourly wage and an additional fringe benefit component. The fringe portion represents supplemental compensation and may be provided in the form of bona fide benefits (such as health insurance, retirement contributions, paid leave, or training programs) or paid directly to the employee as taxable wages.
Fringe pay is calculated on an hourly basis and, when combined with the base wage rate, must meet or exceed the total prevailing wage rate for the assigned classification. Proper allocation and documentation of fringe benefits are required to ensure compliance with federal, state, and/or local labor regulations and certified payroll reporting.
