Position Summary
Our client in Eastlake is seeking a dependable and safety-focused Shipping & Receiving / CDL Driver to join their team. This position is responsible for coordinating daily shipping and receiving activities, safely loading and unloading materials, preparing shipments, and operating company vehicles as needed.
The ideal candidate is organized, dependable, comfortable working in a fast-paced warehouse environment, and committed to accuracy and safety.
Key Responsibilities
- Receive, inspect, and verify incoming materials and shipments.
- Prepare, package, label, and stage outgoing shipments.
- Load and unload trucks safely and efficiently.
- Operate forklifts and other material-handling equipment as authorized.
- Transport materials, products, and equipment as needed using company vehicles.
- Maintain accurate shipping and receiving records.
- Verify quantities, bills of lading, and delivery documentation.
- Ensure shipments are properly secured and prepared for transportation.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe shipping and receiving area.
- Follow all company safety policies and applicable DOT regulations.
- Perform routine vehicle inspections and report any maintenance or safety concerns.
- Communicate effectively with drivers, vendors, and team members.
- Assist with other warehouse and material-handling duties as needed.
Qualifications
- Valid CDL required.
- Clean and safe driving record preferred.
- Previous shipping, receiving, warehouse, or delivery experience preferred.
- Forklift experience preferred.
- Ability to safely lift, move, and handle materials.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Reliable attendance and punctuality.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Good communication and organizational skills.
- Commitment to workplace safety.
Schedule & Compensation
- Monday–Friday
- 12:00 PM–8:00 PM
- Starting pay: $18.00/hour
