Fabricator/Welder - 1st Shift - Mentor, OH

Our client in Mentor, OH is seeking an experienced Fabricator/Welder to join their growing team. This is a 1st shift, temp-to-hire opportunity with a stable and expanding company that values quality craftsmanship and attention to detail.
This role is similar to automotive body repair work and includes MIG welding, grinding, finishing, body filler (Bondo) application, and touch-up priming on hollow metal doors and frames.
Responsibilities
- Fabricate and weld light-gauge metal components
- Cut, notch, fit, and weld materials to precise measurements
- Read and follow templates and specifications
- Grind, finish, and prepare surfaces for final production
- Maintain quality standards and dimensional tolerances
- Follow all safety procedures and company guidelines
Qualifications
Candidates must have:
- Excellent attendance and reliability
- Experience fabricating and welding light-gauge metals (14, 16, and 18 gauge)
- MIG welding experience
- Ability to read templates and maintain tolerances within 1/8"
- Ability to keep products square and accurately measure, fit, and weld components
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Ability to lift materials as needed
- A positive attitude and willingness to learn and grow
- The ability to stay focused, patient, and productive in a fast-paced environment
