Blockmaker – PCC Airfoils 1st Shift
Job Summary:
The Blockmaker is responsible for the preparation, assembly, and maintenance of block molds used in the production of precision-cast airfoil components. This role requires attention to detail, adherence to safety and quality standards, and the ability to work efficiently in a manufacturing environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare and assemble block molds according to production specifications.
- Handle and mix ceramic slurry and other materials used in mold production.
- Ensure proper alignment and integrity of molds before casting.
- Inspect molds for defects, cracks, or irregularities and make necessary adjustments.
- Operate machinery and equipment used in the blockmaking process.
- Follow all safety protocols and maintain a clean and organized work area.
- Collaborate with team members to meet production goals and quality standards.
- Perform routine maintenance on molds and related equipment.
- Document production data and report any issues to supervisors.
Qualifications & Skills:
- Previous experience in a manufacturing or foundry environment preferred.
- Ability to read and interpret work instructions and technical drawings.
- Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to lift and handle materials in a physically demanding environment.
- Basic mechanical aptitude and ability to operate tools and machinery.
- Willingness to work in a team-oriented, fast-paced production setting.
Work Environment:
- Exposure to high temperatures and industrial noise.
- Standing for extended periods and lifting heavy materials.
- Use of personal protective equipment (PPE) as required.
