Position Summary:
The Fish Marker is responsible for marking and tagging fish to support identification, research, and population tracking efforts. This position involves handling live fish, performing precise marking procedures, and maintaining detailed records to ensure accuracy and quality standards are met.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Handle and mark fish according to established procedures and safety guidelines.

Apply tags, clips, or other identifying marks with accuracy and care.

Record data such as species, size, weight, and tag numbers.

Operate and maintain marking equipment and workstations.

Monitor fish health and report any abnormalities or injuries.

Maintain clean and organized work areas and equipment.

Follow all safety and biosecurity protocols.

Assist with sorting, counting, or transporting fish as needed.
Qualifications:

Ability to perform repetitive tasks with attention to detail and accuracy.

Comfortable working with live fish and in wet or cold environments.

Able to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 pounds.

Strong teamwork and communication skills.

Previous experience in fish handling, aquaculture, or laboratory work preferred but not required.
