Job Description – Mechanical & Welding Technician
Schedule: 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM
Pay Rate: $20.00/hr
Overview
This role involves working on conveyor systems at various UPS locations after the initial evaluation period. The job includes mechanical repairs, preventative maintenance, installations, additions, and system tear-downs. Travel is required once training and transition are complete.
Key Responsibilities
- Travel to UPS sites as needed after the evaluation period
- Repair, replace, and maintain conveyor systems, including belts and rollers
- Perform spot welding, MIG welding, and stick welding when required
- Install new conveyor systems and components
- Complete mechanical fixes and preventative maintenance tasks
- Assist with system additions, upgrades, and tear-down projects
Skills & Qualifications
- Welding experience (spot, MIG, and stick preferred)
- Mechanical aptitude and ability to learn new systems
- Positive attitude and willingness to travel once transitioned
- Ability to work with hand tools, power tools, and industrial equipment
- Strong problem-solving abilities
