Upfit Assembler
Pay: $18.00 per hour
Job Type: Full-Time
Schedule: Monday–Friday, Day Shift
Location: Amarillo, TX
Job Summary
Express Employment Professionals is seeking an Upfit Assembler to join a local manufacturing team. This position is responsible for assembling and installing equipment and components according to work orders, specifications, and quality standards.
The ideal candidate has good mechanical aptitude, is comfortable using hand and power tools, and can follow detailed instructions. Previous assembly, manufacturing, mechanical, or fabrication experience is preferred but not required.
Responsibilities
- Assemble and install equipment, components, lighting, wiring, and specialty accessories
- Read and follow work orders, schematics, blueprints, and installation instructions
- Perform basic mechanical, electrical, and fabrication tasks
- Safely operate hand tools, power tools, and other equipment
- Inspect completed work to ensure proper installation, quality, and functionality
- Troubleshoot and correct assembly or installation issues
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area
- Follow all company safety procedures and PPE requirements
- Document completed work and communicate any issues to supervisors
- Work with team members to meet production schedules and deadlines
- Perform other related duties as assigned
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred
- Previous assembly, manufacturing, mechanical, or construction experience is a plus
- Ability to read and follow blueprints, diagrams, and written instructions
- Comfortable using hand and power tools
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality
- Good communication and teamwork skills
- Dependable and safety-minded
- Ability to learn new equipment and processes
Physical Requirements
- Ability to stand, walk, sit, bend, reach, and use hands frequently throughout the workday
- Ability to work with hand tools and power tools
- Ability to occasionally lift and move up to 50 pounds
- Must be able to perform the physical requirements of the position with or without reasonable accommodation
