Job Summary: We are seeking a detail-oriented and highly organized Construction Estimator to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for assessing project costs, preparing estimates, and ensuring that projects are completed within budget constraints. This role is crucial for our bidding process and overall project management.
Key Responsibilities:
- Analyze project plans, specifications, and other documentation to prepare accurate and comprehensive cost estimates.
- Gather and verify information related to material, labor, equipment, and other costs involved in construction projects.
- Develop and maintain databases of historical costs and vendor pricing to inform estimates.
- Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and other stakeholders to understand project requirements and scope.
- Prepare and submit detailed proposals and bids, ensuring compliance with regulations and project specifications.
- Communicate with subcontractors and suppliers to obtain pricing and assess the reliability of their services.
- Monitor the project budget throughout the construction process, providing updates and reports as necessary.
- Identify potential cost-saving opportunities and suggest alternatives to enhance project performance.
- Attend pre-bid meetings and site visits to gather relevant information and clarify project details.
Qualifications:
- 5 years of experience in construction estimating or a related role.
- Proficiency in estimating software and Microsoft Office Suites.
- Strong analytical skills with attention to detail.
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Knowledge of building codes, safety regulations, and industry standards.
- Familiarity with project management software is a plus.
Schedule: M-F/7 AM - 4PM *Flexiable
