Meet Connie Meyer, our dedicated Executive Administrator with over 12 years of experience supporting our franchise operations. Connie expertly manages a wide range of responsibilities, including human resources, accounts receivable and payable, payroll, workers’ compensation, unemployment, and IT support, ensuring smooth day-to-day operations.

What drew Connie to this role was her passion for providing vital administrative support to the Franchise Owner and internal staff. What excites her most about the work is the incredible people she collaborates with daily, making every challenge rewarding. One of Connie’s proudest achievements was maintaining accounts receivable collections above 90% for over a year at both locations—a feat recognized by the International Leadership Conference.

Outside of work, Connie finds joy in spending time outdoors planting flowers in her garden and taking family vacations by the beach, river, or lake. Her greatest happiness comes from cherishing moments with her beloved grandkids. Connie’s commitment, expertise, and caring spirit make her an invaluable part of our team and an essential contributor to our continued success.

Payroll/Sales & Marketing Coordinator

Meet Michelle Alvarado, the heart behind our Payroll, Sales, and Marketing, who also jumps in as an Office Services Employment Specialist whenever she can. Michelle wears many hats and does it all with care and intention. From running payroll and building relationships to implementing sales strategies, aligning communication, leading initiatives, collaborating with the team, and handling marketing—from social media to Google reviews—she keeps everything connected. Placing candidates on assignments brings her unique joy, knowing that even the smallest opportunity can be life-changing for someone.

Her journey with Express began seven years ago at our Texas City location. Fresh out of high school at 18, she began as a Front Office Coordinator and quickly transitioned into Central Administration. From the start, she was driven by a desire to make a difference and demonstrate her contributions. That passion has only grown with time. What Michelle loves most about her work is the freedom to make an impact wherever it’s needed. She thrives on helping people, creating smiles, and celebrating moments of gratitude, like when an associate would bring her chocolates every Friday to show appreciation for her support. Those gestures, big or small, remind her why she does what she does.

At the center of Michelle’s work is a simple principle: helping others succeed is its own reward. Even tiny acts of support can leave a lasting mark on someone’s life and hers. Outside of work, she describes herself as an introvert who still knows how to have fun. She loves her fur baby, Bailee, and feels most at peace when traveling and soaking up new adventures. Her beautiful niece has been the highlight of her days and the reason she wakes up with something to look forward to.

Business Developer

Meet Trey Layton, a key member of our Business Development team. Trey focuses on identifying companies to target, building strong relationships with clients, and bringing in new business opportunities. He has been with the company for 3 years and was drawn to the role because of the company’s culture and the people he gets to work with every day.

What Trey loves most about his work is helping people and celebrating wins, big or small. One of his most rewarding moments was helping an associate get to work when transportation fell through. That small act ensured the associate made it on time and eventually led to a full-time hire. Moments like these are what make his work meaningful.

Trey approaches every day with compassion, persistence, and honesty, making a positive impact on both clients and colleagues. Outside of work, he enjoys hitting the golf course and spending time outdoors.

Skilled Trades Specialist

Meet Jackie Rivera, our Skilled Trades Employment Specialist with 10 years of experience connecting hardworking candidates with the right job opportunities. She interviews, onboards, recruits, fills open roles, and coordinates with clients to meet their staffing needs.

Her career in staffing began after working as a contract recruiter for contractors in the plants, where she developed an in-depth understanding of the industrial job market. She finds fulfillment in helping people find work that allows them to support their families and achieve stability.

She takes pride in placing candidates who not only succeed but also get hired on permanently by clients, even when the opportunity began as short term. Those moments make her work especially rewarding. Away from the office, she enjoys Bible study, spending time with her children and grandbabies, and caring for her dogs.

Lizabeth Sustaita-Alanis

Light Industrial Specialist

Meet Lizabeth Alanis, our Light Industrial Specialist, bringing almost two years of experience to the team. She spends her days interviewing associates, matching them with the right opportunities, connecting with clients, and getting job orders filled quickly and efficiently.

She stepped into this role when the chance came to grow her skills and take on new challenges — an opportunity she knew she couldn’t pass up. She enjoys building genuine connections with associates, hearing their stories, and helping them land jobs where they can shine. One of her favorite success stories is placing an associate, who went on to be hired permanently by the client.

Lizabeth approaches her work with integrity, accountability, and a drive to help people succeed. When she’s off the clock, you’ll find her enjoying time at home, collecting Pokémon cards with her husband and son, or hitting the road searching for the next great food spot.

Meet Maribel Flores, our Project Manager, who oversees all aspects of our special project. With 3 years at the company, she was drawn to the role by the opportunity to help others in times of need and connect great people with meaningful jobs.

What excites Maribel most about her work is being able to support the community and help during natural disasters, making a real difference for both our country and its residents. One of her most rewarding experiences was when the company won three awards, a moment that highlighted the impact of hard work and dedication.

Maribel lives by our core values of trustworthiness, ownership, teamwork, compassion, and ambition, bringing commitment and heart to everything she does. Outside of work, she enjoys expressing herself through tattoos and exploring creative ways to make life colorful.

Front Office Coordinator 

Meet Skyla Sonnenburg, our friendly and welcoming Front Office Coordinator. Skyla has been part of the Express Employment Professionals team for over a year and a half and is often the first face and voice you encounter—answering phones, greeting visitors, scheduling interviews, and assisting with online applications.

Skyla was drawn to this role by her passion for helping and connecting with people. She finds the most joy in seeing the excitement when someone lands a new job. One of her most memorable experiences was attending ICON, where she met Express team members from across the country and strengthened her own team bonds.

Skyla approaches every day with compassion and a genuine desire to make someone’s day brighter, whether it’s with a smile, a kind word, or encouragement. When she’s off the clock, you’ll find her crushing it on the pickleball court, leveling up in video games, binge-watching anime, singing her heart out at church, hanging with her cat Chloe, or soaking up the sun by the pool.

She sources candidates, conducts interviews, manages job placements, and builds strong relationships with clients to meet their hiring needs.

She joined the company one month ago, motivated by a desire to help people succeed in their careers. She thrives in the fast-paced nature of the staffing industry and values the chance to make a positive difference in someone’s life.

One of her most meaningful experiences involved helping a candidate who had been out of work for over a year regain her confidence, land a job, and rebuild her career. That experience reaffirmed her commitment to the work she does. Outside of the office, she enjoys cooking family recipes, painting, and connecting with new people.
