Logistics Agent

McAllen, TX 

M-F 8am-5pm (flexibility to work OT*)

$16.00 - $19.00 per hour D.O.E.

 

Responsibilities:

  1. Coordinate and oversee the transportation and delivery of goods from suppliers to customers.
  2. Plan and schedule shipments, considering factors such as customer requirements, transportation methods, and delivery deadlines.
  3. Communicate with carriers, suppliers, and customers to ensure timely and efficient delivery of goods.
  4. Track shipments and update relevant parties on the status of orders.
  5. Resolve any issues or delays in the transportation process, including customs clearance, damaged goods, or missing items.
  6. Optimize transportation routes and modes to minimize costs and improve efficiency.
  7. Maintain accurate records of shipments, including invoices, shipping documents, and delivery receipts.
  8. Monitor inventory levels and coordinate with suppliers to replenish stock as needed.
  9. Collaborate with other departments, such as procurement, sales, and customer service, to meet business objectives.
  10. Stay informed about industry trends, regulations, and best practices in logistics and supply chain management.

Qualifications:

  1. Bachelor’s degree in logistics, supply chain management, business administration, or a related field is a plus.
  2. Previous experience in logistics, transportation, or supply chain management.
  3. Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  4. Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
  5. Proficiency in logistics software and tools, such as transportation management systems (TMS) and enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems.
  6. Ability to work under pressure and adapt to changing priorities.
  7. Problem-solving skills and the ability to think critically.
  8. Knowledge of international trade regulations and customs procedures (preferred).
  9. Certification in logistics or supply chain management (e.g., Certified Supply Chain Professional - APICS) is a plus.
  10. Familiarity with safety and quality standards in transportation and warehousing.
  11. Bilingual (English & Spanish) is preferred.

 

*Flexibility to work OT: Evenings and weekend rotation
