Monday – Friday, 9:00 AM – 6:00 PM

Job Summary:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and dependable Medical Insurance Verification Clerk/Receptionist to join our administrative team. The primary responsibility of this role is to verify patients' insurance coverage and eligibility prior to appointments and procedures, ensuring accurate billing and smooth patient experiences.
Key Responsibilities:
- Verify insurance eligibility, benefits, co-pays, and authorizations for scheduled procedures and appointments.
- Contact insurance companies via phone and online portals to confirm patient coverage.
- Accurately input and update insurance information in the electronic medical records (EMR) system.
- Communicate insurance coverage details and patient responsibilities to front desk and billing staff.
- Assist patients with insurance-related questions and provide clear explanations of coverage.
- Follow up on pending authorizations and ensure documentation is completed timely.
- Coordinate with medical staff and providers to resolve insurance-related issues.
- Maintain compliance with HIPAA and all applicable health care regulations.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Previous experience in a medical office, insurance verification, or billing preferred.
- Knowledge of insurance plans including Medicare, Medicaid, and commercial carriers.
- Proficiency with EMR systems and Microsoft Office (Word, Excel).
- Strong attention to detail, communication, and organizational skills.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Bilingual (English/Spanish) is a plus
