Air Freight Specialist
McAllen, Tx
$14-$15/hour DOE
Schedule:
- Monday to Friday: 8:30 AM - 5:30 PM
- Weekend: Some weekends/Holidays
Summary:
Seeking a dedicated and versatile individual to join our team in McAllen, TX. This position is a dual-role, combining the responsibilities of Air Freight imports/exports with Customer Service skills. The successful candidate will be the primary point of contact for our clients, manage daily tasks related to air freight operations, and ensuring a seamless flow of information between our customers and the air freight agent.
Key Responsibilities:
- Maintain and follow imports/export air freight standard requirements, procedures and regulations.
- Familiar with TSA requirements.
- Work and provide quotes to customers.
- Process inbound and outbound air freight shipments, preparing all necessary documentation (e.g., bills of lading, Delivery Notes, AWB) from beginning to end.
- Coordinate Flight Schedules, pick up and delivery freight at airline or warehouse.
- Coordinate with Airlines, pay Terminal Handling Fees and follow up release of freight.
- Track and Trace air freight imports/export shipment to its final destination.
- Have some knowledge of US customs clearance process.
- Billing Process.
- Customer Set up.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
- Perform other duties that may be assigned by management.
Customer Service:
- Serve as the primary point of contact for customer inquiries via phone, email, and in-person visits.
- Provide timely and accurate information regarding shipment status, tracking, and delivery schedules.
- Resolve customer issues and complaints with professionalism and a problem-solving attitude.
- Build and maintain positive relationships with clients, understanding their needs and providing tailored solutions.
- Process new customer orders and assist with account setup.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent; an Associate's or Bachelor's degree is a plus.
- Knowledge of Air Freight process and Freight Forwarding.
- Previous experience in air freight, Min. 2 years and have some knowledge in a warehouse, logistics, or customer service role is preferred.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook).
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
- Bilingual (English/Spanish) is a significant advantage.
