Grocery Store Operations Manager
Pay: $70,000 - $90,000 per year
Locations: Pharr, Edinburg, San Juan, etc.
Schedule: Full-time, flexible schedule including evenings and weekends
Express Employment Professionals is seeking an experienced Grocery Store Operations Director to oversee and optimize all operational aspects of a grocery store. This role ensures efficient and profitable daily operations while maintaining high customer satisfaction and adhering to company standards.
Responsibilities
- Develop and implement operational strategies to maximize the supermarket's profitability and efficiency
- Manage and supervise all store departments, ensuring smooth daily operations
- Oversee inventory management, ordering, receiving, and stocking
- Control expenses and manage store budget to maximize revenue
- Recruit, train, and develop a high-performing team
- Monitor KPIs such as sales, customer traffic, and labor costs
- Ensure compliance with food safety, sanitation, and health regulations
- Resolve customer complaints effectively
- Collaborate with marketing and merchandising for promotions and product placement
- Implement loss prevention strategies to minimize shrink
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe store environment
- Conduct regular audits and prepare performance reports for senior management
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Operations Management, or related field (MBA preferred)
- Minimum 7 years of progressive experience in grocery store operations, including 3 years in a leadership role
- Proven track record in managing sales, inventory, staffing, budgeting, and P&L responsibility
- Strong leadership and team development skills
- Experience with vendor management and negotiation
- Knowledge of grocery industry trends and regulations
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and POS systems
- Bilingual (Spanish/English) required
- Ability to work a flexible schedule, including evenings and weekends
