Accounting Assistant - Part Time Student
$15.00 per hour
McAllen, TX
Express Employment is seeking a detail-oriented college or university student to support the Accounts Payable team for a Distribution Warehouse in Mcallen, TX. This part-time role offers hands-on corporate accounting experience, with additional hours during the first and last weeks of each month to assist with month-end activities.
Key Responsibilities:
- Process and enter vendor invoices, including performing three-way matching
- Reconcile vendor statements and resolve discrepancies
- Assist with month-end closing tasks
- Communicate with vendors and internal staff regarding invoice and payment issues
- Maintain electronic records, retrieve data from Oracle, and prepare Excel reports
Qualifications:
- Current UTRGV student (Accounting, Finance, Business, or related field preferred)
- Strong attention to detail and professionalism
- Basic Excel skills; Oracle experience is a plus
- Ability to work extra hours during peak periods
