Flasher Co., a leader in the transportation and highway construction industry, is seeking a dedicated Safety Manager to develop and oversee our safety programs in San Antonio, TX. What You’ll Do:

Develop Safety Programs: Create and implement comprehensive safety policies in line with OSHA, TxDOT, and USDOT regulations.

Conduct Inspections: Perform regular audits and site inspections to identify hazards and ensure compliance with safety standards.

Lead Training: Provide safety education, including TxDOT Work Zone Traffic Control Certification and other relevant programs, to employees.

Investigate Incidents: Analyze accidents, incidents, and near-misses to determine root causes and implement preventive measures.

Maintain Records: Keep accurate documentation of inspections, training, incidents, and corrective actions.

Collaborate: Work with project managers and site supervisors to integrate safety into project planning and execution.

Ensure Equipment Safety: Verify that all safety equipment and materials are available and in good condition.

Promote Safety Culture: Lead safety meetings and toolbox talks to reinforce protocols and engage employees.

Stay Informed: Keep up with industry best practices, regulations, and advancements in safety management.

Prepare for Emergencies: Develop and maintain emergency response plans and coordinate drills.
What We’re Looking For:

Experience: 8+ years in safety management within the construction industry, with a focus on traffic control and highway construction.

Education: Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Safety and Health, Environmental Science, Engineering, or a related field preferred.

Certifications: OSHA 30-Hour Construction Safety and Health certification and TxDOT Work Zone Traffic Control Certification required; Certified Safety Professional (CSP) or Associate Safety Professional (ASP) preferred.

Skills: Strong knowledge of OSHA, TxDOT, USDOT, and state-specific safety regulations; excellent communication, training, and problem-solving skills; proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and safety management software.

Mobility: Ability to travel to job sites across Texas and work in varying weather conditions; occasional evening/weekend work may be required.
