Secretary / City Secretary
Location: Victoria, TX
Hours: Monday – Friday | 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM
Pay: Based on experience
We are seeking a professional and detail-oriented Secretary to support daily operations. This position may be considered either a General Secretary or City Secretary role depending on qualifications and needs.
Key Responsibilities:
General Secretary:

Answer phones, manage correspondence, and schedule appointments

Arrange meetings and maintain calendars
-
Prepare reports, type documents, and manage filing systems
-
Maintain databases and ensure office records are accurate
City Secretary:
-
Maintain official city records, including minutes, ordinances, and resolutions
-
Attend City Council meetings and serve as parliamentarian
-
Act as the city’s election official, overseeing election integrity
-
Ensure compliance with state laws, city ordinances, and open meeting requirements
-
Certify documents and affix the city seal to official proceedings
Qualifications:
-
General Secretary: High school diploma or equivalent, proficiency with Microsoft Office and administrative skills

City Secretary: Associate’s degree or completion of a certification program preferred, with experience in municipal government and public administration
