Human Resources Generalist

💲Salary: $73,000–$80,000/year

Location: Onsite (Local candidates preferred)

We're seeking an experienced Human Resources Generalist to join our local client's team! This role is responsible for the day-to-day operations of the Human Resources department, supporting employees throughout the entire employment lifecycle. The ideal candidate is organized, collaborative, and knowledgeable in HR best practices, employment law, and employee relations.

What You'll Do

As an HR Generalist, you'll play a key role in supporting our employees and ensuring HR processes run smoothly. Responsibilities include:

  • Coordinate new hire processes, including I-9 compliance, background checks, and drug screenings
  • Conduct new hire orientation and onboarding
  • Assist with recruiting and talent acquisition efforts
  • Maintain employee records and HRIS data with accuracy
  • Assist with FMLA administration and leave management
  • Support employee relations by responding to questions, resolving workplace concerns, and escalating complex issues when necessary
  • Participate in disciplinary meetings, investigations, and terminations
  • Track and maintain required employee training and compliance records
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws
  • Prepare HR documents, including offer letters, and manage DocuSign processes
  • Review and update job descriptions as needed
  • Conduct research and assist with special HR projects
  • Perform other HR-related duties as assigned

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field
  • Minimum of 4 years of Human Resources Generalist experience
  • Strong knowledge of employment laws and HR best practices
  • Experience with employee relations, onboarding, HRIS systems, and compliance
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and time management skills
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information professionally
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and HRIS platforms
  • HR certification (PHR, SPHR, SHRM-CP, or SHRM-SCP) is a plus
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred
