Upfitter

Pay: $20.00–$30.00/hour (DOE)
Schedule: Monday–Friday | 8:00 AM–5:00 PM
Express Employment Professionals is seeking a skilled Upfitter for a growing company in Victoria, TX. If you enjoy hands-on work, have a strong mechanical background, and take pride in building customized work vehicles, we'd love to hear from you!
As an Upfitter, you'll be responsible for transforming commercial trucks and fleet vehicles into fully equipped work vehicles by installing custom components, electrical accessories, and specialized equipment.
Responsibilities
- Install service bodies, utility beds, toolboxes, shelving, ladder racks, and other truck accessories.
- Perform mechanical assembly and fabrication of vehicle components.
- Install and troubleshoot 12V electrical systems, lighting, switches, wiring, and related accessories.
- Read and interpret blueprints, work orders, and installation instructions.
- Measure, drill, cut, and mount components with precision.
- Safely operate hand tools, power tools, and shop equipment.
- Inspect completed work to ensure quality and proper functionality.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area.
Qualifications
- Previous experience in upfitting, fabrication, mechanics, automotive, welding, or a related trade preferred.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills.
- Experience using hand and power tools.
- Ability to read tape measures and follow detailed instructions.
- Basic electrical wiring experience is a plus.
- Welding and fabrication experience is beneficial but not required.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. and work in a shop environment.
- Dependable, detail-oriented, and committed to producing quality work.
