Traveling Installation Technician (Direct Hire)
Employment Type: Direct Hire – Start Day One on Company Payroll
Pay: $25–$35 per hour (based on experience)
Schedule: Typical workday 6:00 AM – 4:00 PM (hours may extend until job completion)
About the Position
We are seeking a motivated Installation Technician for a heavy travel-based role with a growing company that installs large, industrial systems at customer sites across the United States. This is a direct hire opportunity, offering long-term stability, competitive pay, and paid travel with per diem.
On average, technicians travel approximately two weeks per month, with some projects requiring extended time on the road. This role is ideal for hands-on individuals who enjoy field work, problem-solving, and working as part of a close-knit installation team.
Key Responsibilities
- Install large mechanical systems at customer sites nationwide
- Perform mechanical assembly and basic electrical component installation
- Troubleshoot mechanical and electrical issues during installation
- Support field operations through extended travel and on-site work
- Work safely at heights and in active industrial job sites
- Communicate professionally with team members and customers
- Maintain a strong safety mindset and follow all jobsite procedures

Skills Required
- Mechanical aptitude (assembly, hand and power tools)
- Basic electrical skills (component installation and troubleshooting)
- Comfortable working at heights
- Installation and troubleshooting experience
- Strong interpersonal skills — must work well within an established team culture
Experience Required
- Entry-level to experienced technicians encouraged to apply
- Field installation, construction, or industrial experience is a plus, but not required

Education Requirements
- High School Diploma or equivalent
Physical Requirements
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
- Ability to stand, climb, bend, and work in physically demanding environments

- Safety harnesses and fall-protection gear
- Hand tools (wrenches, sockets, hammers, measuring tools)
- Torque wrenches
- Power tools (drills, impact tools, grinders)
- Multimeters
- Rigging equipment (slings, chains, shackles)
- Required PPE (steel-toe boots, hard hats, safety glasses, etc.)
Travel Requirements
- Yes — heavy travel required
- Projects may require weeks at a time on the road
- Minimum average of 2 weeks traveling per month
