Position Summary
The Patient Coordinator serves as the primary point of contact for patients, ensuring a smooth and positive experience from scheduling to follow-up. This role is responsible for managing appointments, coordinating patient care, handling administrative tasks, and supporting communication between patients, and providers.
Key Responsibilities
Patient Interaction & Customer Service
- Greet patients warmly and professionally upon arrival
- Assist patients with check-in and check-out processes
- Address patient questions regarding appointments, procedures, and policies
- Ensure a positive, patient-centered experience at all times
- Schedule, confirm, and reschedule appointments efficiently
- Coordinate patient visits, including referrals and follow-ups
- Manage provider calendars to optimize workflow and minimize wait times
- Collect payments and process transactions accurately
- Maintain accurate patient records and update information in electronic systems
- Handle incoming phone calls, emails, and messages
- Prepare and organize documentation, forms, and reports
- Ensure HIPAA compliance and patient confidentiality
Required Qualifications
- 2+ years of experience in a medical office or healthcare administration
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and electronic health record (EMR) systems
- Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment
