Job Full Description
Overview: A local resource agency committed to serving low-income individuals and families in Kitsap County is seeking an IT Specialist to join their team. The IT Specialist is responsible for providing comprehensive technical support to staff, maintaining agency technology infrastructure, and ensuring the security and functionality of computer systems, network equipment, and communication systems. This role involves troubleshooting, repairing, upgrading, and managing both hardware and software systems while offering end-user support in-person and remotely.
JOB DUTIES:
May include but not limited to the following:
- Provide helpdesk support and technical assistance to staff, resolving hardware, software, and network issues
- Install, configure, maintain, and upgrade computer systems, software applications, and network equipment
- Troubleshoot issues with the agency’s phone system, ensuring reliable communication services
- Ensure the integrity and security of voice, data, and wireless services
- Administer firewalls, network switches, servers, and security infrastructure
- Configure and manage MS Entra, Active Directory, Group Policy, DHCP, DNS, and Windows Server environments
- Utilize PowerShell for system automation and management
- Monitor system performance and security, implementing necessary updates and patches
- Manage agency-owned devices, including desktops, laptops, mobile devices, and peripheral equipment
- Oversee cellular accounts and security system operations
- Ensure compliance with IT policies and best practices
- Provide training and technical guidance to staff on software applications and IT best practices
- Develop and maintain documentation for IT procedures, troubleshooting guides, and system configurations
- Communicate technical concepts clearly to non-technical users
Requirements:
- A./B.S. in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field
- Minimum of 2 years in IT support, network/server management, or related professional experience
- Experience with Microsoft Enterprise solutions, Windows Server, and network management
- Proficiency in managing on-premises IT infrastructure, including firewalls, network switches, and multi-server systems
- Working knowledge of MS Entra, Active Directory, Group Policy, DHCP, DNS, PowerShell scripting, and system automation
- Ability to diagnose and resolve hardware/software/network issues across multiple locations
- Strong problem-solving abilities and attention to detail
- Excellent organizational and multitasking skills, with the ability to prioritize multiple projects
- Strong communication and customer service skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical users
- Ability to work effectively under pressure and meet deadlines
- Ability to pass state and/or federal backgrounds checks
- Must hold a valid Washington State Driver’s License and be able to obtain proof of insurability for operating an automobile

Pay:
$27.25/hour
Schedule:
Monday-Friday, 8:00AM-4:30PM
