Job Full Description
Overview: Seeking experienced ironworkers to assist with a 5-night temporary bridge project involving the fabrication, installation, and disassembly of hanging scaffold frames. This work will take place between a floating causeway and the main deck of the bridge structure, in accordance with WSDOT specifications and safety requirements.
JOB DUTIES:
May include but not limited to the following:

Fabricate, assemble, and install 8 hanging scaffold frames to create safe work platforms (42” deep x 48” wide) with guardrails, midrails, kick plates, and plywood decking.

Secure platforms to existing bridge structures using pad eyes, shackles, safety lines, and cable come-alongs.

Install and utilize access ladders from floating causeway rails.

Perform welding, preheating, and profiling procedures per WSDOT’s formal weld procedure.

Disassemble and relocate work platforms nightly as work sections are completed.

Maintain strict adherence to all safety requirements, including wearing PFDs and harness systems as directed.

Work in coordination with WSDOT personnel for inspection and approval of completed sections.
Requirements:

Proven experience as an ironworker with strong welding and fabrication skills.

AWS or equivalent welding certification.

Experience with scaffold and platform assembly in marine or bridge environments preferred.

Proficiency in reading and following technical weld procedures and safety protocols.

Comfortable working at heights and over water in nighttime conditions.
Pay: $50-$92 DOE
Schedule: Sept 21-Sept 26 from 9:00pm to 4:00am
