Overview:
Express Employment Professionals is recruiting a Temporary Maintenance Technician for a multi-unit affordable housing community in Bremerton. This position offers an excellent opportunity for a maintenance professional seeking stable work with the potential to become a permanent member of the team.
The ideal candidate will have at least 2 years of maintenance experience, a strong work ethic, and the ability to remain professional in a residential housing environment. We are looking for someone who can stay focused on assigned tasks, maintain appropriate professional boundaries with tenants, and work independently while providing quality maintenance services.
Responsibilities
- Perform general maintenance and repair work throughout the property
- Complete work orders in a timely and professional manner
- Conduct basic plumbing, electrical, carpentry, and painting repairs
- Troubleshoot and repair maintenance issues in residential units and common areas
- Assist with apartment turns and unit preparation
- Perform preventative maintenance inspections and routine maintenance tasks
- Maintain building systems, grounds, and common areas
- Respond to maintenance requests and emergencies as needed
- Keep detailed records of completed maintenance work
- Ensure all work is completed in compliance with safety policies and procedures
- Maintain tools, equipment, and maintenance supply inventory
- Work professionally in an occupied residential environment while maintaining confidentiality and appropriate tenant boundaries
Qualifications
- Minimum 2 years of maintenance experience required
- Previous apartment, housing, facilities, or property maintenance experience preferred
- Knowledge of basic plumbing, electrical, carpentry, drywall, and painting repairs
- Ability to diagnose and resolve maintenance issues independently
- Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills
- Valid Washington State driver's license and clean driving record
- Ability to pass background check
- Reliable transportation to and from work
- Ability to prioritize tasks and manage workload effectively
- Professional communication skills
- Ability to stay focused on job duties and avoid involvement in tenant conflicts or personal matters
- Dependable, punctual, and self-motivated
Physical Requirements
- Frequent standing, walking, bending, kneeling, and climbing stairs
- Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull up to 50 lbs.
- Ability to work indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions
- Ability to use hand and power tools safely
- Ability to access confined spaces and work from ladders when necessary
