Express Employment Professionals is looking for a detail-driven Purchasing Associate to join our client’s team. This is someone who can balance pricing, supplier communication, inventory tracking, and logistics coordination while keeping everything organized, backed by solid Excel skills.
PURCHASING ASSOCIATE JOB HIGHLIGHTS:
- Full-time, 1st shift position
- Pay: $20-28/hour, depending on experience.

WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING:
- Create, process, and manage purchase orders based on inventory levels, demand history, and operational needs
- Coordinate shipments of inbound and outbound freight including selecting carriers
- Monitor inventory levels, reporting shortages and turnover rates. Update pricing and supplier data in company database
- Negotiate and maintain vendor pricing and delivery terms, building strong relationships with vendors
- Serve as primary contact for supplier inquiries regarding orders and delivery schedules
WHAT THEY ARE LOOKING FOR:
- Experience: 4+ years in purchasing, procurement, logistics, or supply chain management
- Proven experience working with suppliers including negotiation and relationship building
- Strong Advanced Microsoft Excel skills with experience with formulas, VLOOKUPs, pivot tables, and data analysis
- Education: High school diploma or associates degree required; bachelor’s degree
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment while keeping the big picture in mind - cost control, inventory accuracy, and smooth logistics flow
