Job Full Description
- Under supervision of the Blast/Grind Department Supervisor, performs the cleaning, and preparation of castings for shipment per the written process guidelines using powered grinding and chipping tools.
- During work shift, performs duties including removing excess fins, parting lines, pads, sand, and other casting impurities, using various grind tools including cup grinders, wheel grinders, pencil grinders, air hammers, stand grind machines, swing grind machines, and cut-off wheel machine.
- Performs the cleaning and preparation of castings for shipment per written process guidelines using powered grinding and chipping tools. Performs all tasks ensuring safety, efficiency, and quality always.
- All grind numbers and part information are recorded by the grinder on a daily timesheet received from the supervisor. This information is done accurately and turned in daily.
- You must have the ability to move freely from one area to another within the department, conform to physical requirements of the job, including ability to lift 50 pounds on a regular basis, and stand in one area during shift hours.
- Must possess the ability to follow written and verbal instructions
- Must be trained on safety requirements, including respiratory protection, PPE requirements and use, and any other safety requirements for employment.
- Minimum of the completion of the 10th grade, high school.
