Production Assembly Technician / Manufacturing Assembler

Position Summary
We are seeking a reliable, safety‑focused Production Assembly Technician to join our manufacturing team. This role is responsible for supporting production and delivery schedules by assembling retarders (in‑track braking systems) and service parts in a fast‑paced industrial environment.
This is a hands‑on manufacturing and mechanical assembly position that requires standing, moving between workstations, and repetitive lifting throughout the workday. Candidates who enjoy working with tools, following detailed instructions, and being part of a team will thrive in this role.
Key Responsibilities
- Assemble subassemblies and final assemblies according to work instructions and production schedules
- Build, test, and inspect completed assemblies to ensure accuracy and quality standards
- Operate a wide range of hand tools, including (but not limited to):
- Cordless drills
- Thread taps
- Combination wrenches
- Tape measures & combination squares
- Pry bars
- Pneumatic impact guns
- Sledge hammers
- Operate shop equipment such as drill presses, hydraulic presses, and band saws
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment
- Follow all manufacturing safety standards, OSHA guidelines, and company policies
- Assist team members as needed to meet daily production goals
- Support continuous improvement and team collaboration on the production floor
Required Qualifications
- Ability to lift 50 lbs. repeatedly and perform physically demanding work
- Ability to read a tape measure to 1/16” increments
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality
- Dependable with excellent attendance and punctuality
- Ability to follow written and verbal instructions in a manufacturing environment
Preferred / Desired Qualifications
- 1–2 years of assembly, manufacturing, or mechanical experience
- Sit‑down forklift experience
- Overhead crane and hoist experience
- Experience working in an industrial, production, or warehouse environment
- Strong communication skills and ability to work well with co‑workers and management
- Team‑oriented mindset with flexibility to work overtime or weekends as required
- Ability to multi‑task and adapt in a fast‑paced production setting
