Stand-Up Forklift Operator (Client Site – Wauwatosa, WI)
Schedule: Monday – Friday | 6:00 AM – 2:30 PM
Our client, a well-established operation in the Wauwatosa area, is seeking a dependable and safety-driven Stand-Up Forklift Operator to support daily warehouse and distribution activities. This position involves operating electric-powered industrial trucks to handle materials efficiently while adhering to all safety, regulatory, and company standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Safely operate a stand-up forklift to move, load, and unload products and materials
- Position forks or lifting devices under, over, or around pallets, skids, and other materials for transport
- Transfer materials to designated locations within the facility
- Utilize a Radio Frequency (RF) system to accurately record weights, counts, and condition of products (including frozen goods)
- Complete daily forklift inspections and maintenance checklists
- Perform safety checks, including trailer chocking and glad-hand procedures
- Communicate with truck drivers to ensure safe loading and unloading practices
- Monitor battery levels, maintain and clean batteries, and return equipment to charging stations
Additional Responsibilities
- Operate other material handling equipment as required
- Collaborate with team members to maintain safety and productivity standards
Qualifications & Requirements
- Basic math skills required
- Ability to understand and follow workplace instructions in English (or designated language)
- Willingness to work in varying temperature environments, including:
- Cold storage conditions as low as -20°F (-25°C)
- Dry storage environments up to 100°F (37°C)
(Appropriate PPE and freezer gear provided by client)
- Ability to lift a minimum of 40 lbs. (requirements may vary by facility)
- Flexibility to work additional hours or weekends as needed
- Comfortable working in environments with varying noise levels
